Anyone can view units for sale and wanted requests without signing in.
What a listing shows
- The quantity available.
- The price per unit, or price on application.
- Where the units are held: in a Carbon Trader® wallet or in the seller's own Emissions Trading Register account.
- Whether it is escrow-protected, with Carbon Trader holding the money and the units until both are in, or a direct sale, settled between buyer and seller with no protection from Carbon Trader.
- The closing date.
A listing never names the seller. In a direct sale, once a buyer has bought, each party is sent the other's contact details so they can settle.
What a wanted request shows
- The quantity wanted.
- The price per unit the buyer will pay.
- The closing date.
A wanted request never names the buyer. It is published only once the buyer's money is in escrow.
Acting on a listing or a wanted request
To buy a lot, make the seller an offer below its listed price, sell to a wanted request or create a listing of your own, create a free account with an email address and a password, or log in. Identity is confirmed once, for the buyer and the seller, when a trade first goes into escrow; making an offer needs it first, because an accepted offer is a binding purchase. See Creating an account and confirming your identity and Buying and selling NZUs.
Why a listing you submitted may not be showing
Check its row under Sell NZUs in your dashboard. A listing does not show publicly if it is:
- awaiting escrow, which means we are waiting on proof of the units in your own Register account;
- awaiting approval inside your organisation;
- scheduled to open later;
- sold, closed or withdrawn.
