Use Organisations in your dashboard when trading is done by a company, trust, council, adviser or finance team, and more than one person needs to act on the same account.
Create an organisation
- Open Organisations.
- Enter the organisation name, its legal name and its NZBN if it has one.
- Create the organisation.
The person who creates it becomes the owner. You can belong to more than one organisation.
Inviting your team
The owner or an organisation admin invites each colleague by email from the Organisations screen, choosing their role. The colleague is emailed an invitation, and joins when they accept it:
- They sign in to Carbon Trader® with the email address the invitation was sent to, or create an account with it.
- They open Organisations and accept or decline the invitation.
An invitation lasts 14 days. It can only be accepted by an account that signs in with that email address and a password; an account that signs in with Carbon Tracker® cannot accept one.
Invitations you have received
If an organisation has invited you, the invitation appears on the Organisations screen when you are signed in with the address it was sent to. Accept it to join with the role it names, or decline it.
Team roles
The roles, from highest to lowest, are owner, organisation admin, approver, finance, trader and viewer. Your role controls what you can do for the organisation. What you can do at each stage has the table.
Approval limits
An organisation has value thresholds so that larger trades need a second person:
- up to the self-approval limit, the person creating a listing or wanted request can go ahead on their own;
- above it, the listing or wanted request is held until an approver releases it;
- above the two-approver threshold (by default $50,000), two approvers are needed;
- at the board-review threshold, only an organisation admin or the owner can approve;
- a person cannot approve their own request.
Each person can also have a personal approval limit, which can only ever be lower than the organisation's. Only an owner can change the thresholds or a personal limit, and nobody can change their own.
A listing or wanted request waiting for an approver shows as Awaiting approval and is not published until it is approved. Approvers see the queue on the Organisations screen.
Listing as the organisation
On Sell NZUs, choose the organisation under Selling as. Its approval limits then apply to that listing. If someone changes the price of an organisation's live listing, the new price goes back to an approver before buyers see it.
Identity
Identity is confirmed once, when a trade first goes into escrow, for the people who can bind the organisation. We may ask for documents showing who they are and their authority to act.
