Part 7 - Cookie Policy
1. What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies are small files or storage entries used by websites and applications to remember information, maintain sessions, secure accounts, measure usage and support features.
2. Types of cookies we use
Carbon Trader may use:
- strictly necessary cookies for login, security, sessions, preferences and form submission, including the sign-in session cookie, which is secure and HttpOnly so that scripts on the page cannot read it;
- functional cookies for account settings and interface preferences;
- analytics cookies to understand website usage;
- performance cookies to diagnose errors and improve services;
- marketing cookies where enabled;
- fraud, abuse and bot protection, such as the security cookies Cloudflare may set;
- local storage for preferences and platform operation.
3. Third-party cookies and tools
Third-party tools may include Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics on the public pages, Cloudflare, which serves the website and may set security cookies, and Carbon Tracker®, which sets its own cookies on carbontracker.nz when you sign in with a Carbon Tracker account.
4. Consent and controls
Users can control cookies through browser settings and any cookie preference tools offered on the website. Blocking some cookies may affect login, forms, security checks, account access or platform functions.
5. Do Not Track
Carbon Trader may recognise browser settings where technically feasible, but not all third-party services respond to Do Not Track signals.
