Carbon Trader® service

Verified participant onboarding

Carbon Trader® uses verification and account approval to support safer marketplace participation and better settlement records.

Identity first

The join journey starts with secure verification so the platform can collect reliable identity and contact information before trading details are completed. This reduces duplication and helps keep the account record consistent.

Trading profile review

After verification, users complete business, settlement, ETS and bank details. These details are reviewed before the user can participate in trading workflows that require approved account access.

A better counterparty environment

Verified participant onboarding does not remove every market risk, but it improves the trading environment by applying access controls before sensitive actions are available. It also supports clearer audit and notification workflows.

Ongoing account controls

Users can update profile details, preferences, wallet settings and notification choices from the account area. Organisations can also manage team access and permission boundaries.

Where this fits in the wider ETS environment

Carbon Trader® is designed to support marketplace and settlement workflows, while the official ETS system remains the record infrastructure for unit holdings and transfers. Participants can read more about ETS accounts through the New Zealand Emissions Trading Register and should make sure their own account details are accurate before requesting delivery outside the Carbon Trader® wallet.
