Who reports what in the New Zealand ETS
The EPA publishes participant-level emissions and removals under section 89A of the Climate Change Response Act 2002. This is that data, searchable. No account needed, and no commentary - the figures and the source.

How to read it
- A participant appears once per activity, per year. An organisation carrying out two activities has two rows. Adding them together gives that organisation's reported total across its ETS activities - it is not a measure of the organisation's total emissions, and we do not present it as one.
- Emissions and removals are separate columns, not a net figure. Forestry and some other activities report removals.
- A blank is not a zero. Blank means nothing was reported in that column for that activity; 0 means zero was returned.
- Reported emissions are what the participant returned for that activity under the ETS. They are not an independent measurement, and the EPA may restate the data.
Why we publish it
This is the primary source for who actually carries surrender obligations in New Zealand and at what scale. It is public data, published by the EPA under statute, and it is more useful searchable than as a spreadsheet. We present the figures and the source and leave the judgements to you - there is no ranking, no scoring and no commentary on any named company here.
Where this fits
